Default wolseley shearing plant

I had an interesting find the other day. It is a Wolseley shearing plant. Unfortunately it was missing the engine. Could somebody tell me what model Wolseley engine should go on this shearing plant.

I think it would be a style 2 or 3. not sure but that would certainly be my guess. I have seen a very similar Wolseley shearing plant that was missing the shearing gear and it is I think a style 2. hit and miss governed with flick maggie.
Regards, Nathan

Hello all
What a good find.
Would it be safe to assume the engine mounts on the back of that big cast base where the 4 bolts are sticking up? If so, then it may be possible to work out engine by the footprint of the engine. If I remember, all the Wolseley's had a removable base until the R style (or style 4). It would be easy to imagine one of those fitting into that cradle on that base in the picture. I do have reservations as it whether a pre style or style 1,2 or 3 will fit in that cradle due to the cutout on the sides of that cradle. They just don't seem deep enough to accommodate an early Wolseley. As always, I'll happily be corrected on that.
Would it also be safe to assume it is a portable unit?

Cheers Scott

One of our "late " district identities bought a shearing plant at a clearing sale about 30 years ago that was identical to that posted by Dave. I have no idea what model it was but it was the same as that photo ! when they left the farm it was sold to a collector somewhere but I have no idea who !
