Default Farmall 560 Glow Plug Gauge

I just bought a Farmall 560 (new rear tires, near new front tires, runs great, great paint and really straight sheet metal for $2500. The Glow Plug Gauge doesn't seem to work. Exactly what does it do? Is it a temperature sensing gauge; measure resistance of the glow plugs? In looking at pictures, I see some that have calibrations as if someone replaced it with some other guage. Mine just has moon type dots. Any help?
