Some of you have asked for details about our Event on May 18th. The flyer was approved tonight. I've been telling everyone it's free admission, so come hungry and buy burgers and dogs.

On May 18th, the farm and tractor barns will be open for you to tour at your leisure from 11am – 4pm and we’ll have tractors up and running throughout the day. We wanted to schedule a few anchor events in order for you to plan your visit and have time to learn from our staff. Below is a tentative schedule of those anchor events.

Tentative schedule of events
• 11:00 am – Tractor barns and farm open for visitors
• 11:30 am – Guided tour of our collection tractors with Dudley Diebold
• 12:00 pm – Learn about the History of Toplands Farm from our farmer, Ken Murphy
• 1:00 – 2:00 pm – Various demonstrations with antique farm equipment
• 2:00 pm – Tractor parade
• 3:00 pm – Learn about the Toplands Farm Beef program from our farmer, Sean Murphy
• 3:30 pm – Guided tour of our collection with Dudley Diebold

Full Event Details
• Who: Toplands Farm and Double D Living History Farm
• What: Spring Tractor Show and Farm Open House
• Where: Toplands Farm, 102 Painter Hill Road, Roxbury, Connecticut
• When: Sunday, May 18th from 11am – 4pm
• Why: To display Dudley Diebold's unique collection, eat local food, and enjoy the company of friends and family on a beautiful farm!

Our team has been hard at work getting the property ready for the event. Our cattle are in the open pastures, the goats and chickens have moved to their outdoor homes, and of course, our donkeys are ready to greet all visitors. We invite you to tour the property, visit with our animals and learn more about the farm.

For those looking for a great lunch while visiting, we’ll be selling hamburgers, cheeseburgers and frankfurters made with Toplands Farm Beef, accompanied with some of Connecticut’s finest potato chips and old fashioned soda pop! If you enjoy the beef (you will, we promise), we’ll have our farm store open for you to purchase beef for your summer barbeques and picnics. Don’t forget to bring a cooler if you are traveling a distance so the beef will stay frozen!

Thumbs up Re: Tractor Show in Roxbury CT

Our Second Annual Spring Tractor Show and Farm Open House will be on Sunday, June 7, 2015.

At the inaugural event on May 18, 2014, there were 24 pieces of equipment running including the newly restored Flour City one-cylinder traction engine and her big sister who came out of the Legendary Jim Erdle Collection. The 1903 Huber Steamer was out and about all day long. Both the Aultman Taylor and Fairbanks 30-60s were running great to name just a few. Many Rumelys were out including the F and the K 12-20. Grandpa's M was the last one to go back to her spot in Barn 1.

Folks who stayed at the Crowne Plaza seemed happy. It is still the closest to the Show and we'll work with them to get a group rate and some tractor guy perks. We don't have a new flyer yet but we thought we better start earlier to give you more time to plan.

Is this the Old Roxbury Days show or was that phased out years ago?

You can see our Event under Toplands Farm LLC. You will see the same flyer. Unfortunately, I have not been able to secure a block of rooms at any of the area hotels this year to get people a good Group Rate. It is not for the lack of trying. There is a triathalon in the area that if jamming everything up.

Past few years Dudley Diebold sent me the letter and picture of Greyhound tractor. Does he still have in his collection?

Thanks

This is just a bump. I'm sure Nikki will be on soon with more information about this years show June 7th. Just want to say this collection is over the top and a must see by anyone on this site. If there is any way you can get away it is well worth the trip from anywhere. Dudley is bringing a couple of old Allis's to our GOTO tomorrow May 2nd at the Zagray Farm in Colchester.
Hope to see you at his place in a month. Ed B

HOPE to get there myself one of these years if I'm able.

The Kinnard Haines Flour City tractor alone would be worth the trip for me.

The rest of the collection would just be "Icing On The Cake".

Wink Re: Tractor Show in Roxbury CT

Finally looked you up on Facebook around 3:30 this morning and 'liked' your page.

Found your Show "Event" and Shared it out on our new page for the Stephenson County Antique Engine Club.

We're only up to 30 "Likes" so far on our new page but we've only had it going about a month now and I'm still trying to figure things out on how to manage it.

The guy that helped me set it up has a couple antique car pages himself and will get it shared out on them as well reaching several hundred friends and thousands of 'followers', some of which may also re-share it on their pages. He's new to the area and very impressed with what we have but was disappointed with our lame Facebook presence having found a couple defunct pages that had been started over the years and then allowed to die down with little or no content so he set up a new page and gave me administrative power on it along with giving me lots of help on it.

With your picture of the Kinnard Haines Four City in your ad I mentioned that there had been one in our area a hundred years or so ago (the Reed Bros in Afolke) and will post the pictures I have of that just to have more content on our own page and add a little more interest on yours being able to see a fully restored on running.
