I will give this a few thread bumps as the dates draw nearer, but wanted to get this posted early for those that need more time to prepare.

The toy tractors are in, and a few of them have already been sold.

I snapped a couple pictures of one of them in the box so you can see what they look like. Not the greatest pictures shooting through the multiple angles of clear plastic causing some glare, but it gives you an idea of what they look like.

They will be displayed and offered for sale at a few other local parades & activities before the show too, so if you have your heart set on getting one you might want to contact one of the DeBoer's (at the numbers listed in the opening post) if you want to get one ahead of time. There are only 100 of them made for our show, and as I noted, a few have already been sold. (I HOPE this isn't concidered to be an Ad for them the way I posted it here. I just wanted to let people know that they are limited to 100 total available, and when they're gone, they're gone)

I also wanted to mention, that even though the 'feature engine' this year is Stover, that Massey Harris Engines are welcome too with the M-H feature display. If you bring a trailer load of engines (various brands) and don't want to seperate them, they would be in Gasoline Alley with the other engines, but if you bring Massey Harris Engine(s) only, we would probably try to fit them in with the Massey Display.

Figured while I'm bumping the thread once in a while leading up to the show, I would toss in some video links with each of them.

Here is a repost of a link showing the Case 12 horse sweep power threshing machine in action.

The train will be running all three days of the show, August 2nd, 3rd, & 4th, along with other key dates during the summer including the first run of the year which will be Memorial Day weekend, May 26th & 27th.

Please check the clubs website www.thefreeportshow.com for more information on some of the other dates.

I'll be linking other show related videos along with some more pictures as the dates draw nearer. Or you can click on my 'signature' link at the bottom of the post and view all of my videos from Freeport and Other shows and other 'Shtuff'.

One more Longer train video I pieced together last fall that I haven't linked here before, (at least I don't think I have anyway).

I was playing around using my camera tripod as an extension arm to reach out farther filming it going down the tracks. I still need to get out a few feet farther yet to get the shots I want, but I'm slowly getting there.

http://youtu.be/uVsZ5tzL2rc

I purposely let the camera run through some of the tree branches, (too bad I can't shoot in 3-D), while I 'ducked down' to clear other bigger ones.

Figured I'd give this another thread bump with a new (short) video I just posted yesterday showing the Heisler crossing the bridge over Yellow Creek.

http://youtu.be/C0qlqsOnMCs

I've shot it from most every other vantage point, I figured it was time to go down by the creek and film it going over from that angle while I was in there for the Fathers Day train runs.

Figured it was time for another thread bump, this time with a link from the Freeport Journal Standard's youtube video from our 39th annual show in 2008 when we featured the army equipment.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_vXk...=TL6F2bXSodhus

While the Sherman Tank and other army equipment was a one time only feature display, the journal standard video shows a fair amount of some of the other usual displays that are there every year.

Even though I've posted this before in its own thread, here's a repost of the link to my Sherman Tank video with it meeting up with one of the steam engines during the parade.

http://youtu.be/5DWv6aJAsec

I still think that was one of the coolest sets of pictures & videos I ever shot that day. It will be a long time before that is ever duplicated again.

The last I heard, we have 4 steam engines lined up for this year, still down from what we used to haul in years ago, but much better than last year when sadly we only had one. The 20-40 Oil Pull that made it back last year will be here again, as it is currently stored on the show grounds, and hopefully it will have some company with a couple more Oil Pulls returning, along with some other choice pieces.

We're slowly getting things built back up again after several bad years, and hope to have a good turn out at the gate so we can hopefully continue to put on shows in the future. We need the big stuff to draw people in with, but it also takes good gate receipts to be able to haul in the big stuff. If we can get the crowd built back up again, hopefully we can afford to haul in even more big equipment next year to draw an even bigger crowd again.

Some clubs are fortunate enough to own their own show grounds, and others like ours are held at the fair boards mercy on what they charge us to rent our show grounds, and it takes a good crowd to be able to pull it all off year after year.

We still have a wide variety of displays, and while some have slowly dwindled over the years, others have improved dramatically. The last several years, we have been getting more and more Antique / Classic cars and trucks showing up, many of which I have already posted pictures of in other threads the last couple years, PLUS we have the Silver Creek & Stephenson Railroad with the Heisler logging locomotive, the HUGE Cooper Corliss stationary steam engine, and the Silvercreek Museum with 20+ rooms packed with local memorabilia and collectibles including rooms dedicated to some of the local businesses like STOVER Manufacturing, the Henney Buggy Company and others and rooms set up as a 'one room school house' a 'general store' room, a 'war' room, a model train room, and others.

And as always, we still have the Sawmill, Barrel Stave Mill, 12 horse hitch horse powered threshing machine, lots of antique engines and tractors, and more and more and more.

As in the past, There's Something For Everyone, Young and Old.

Figured I was overdue for another thread bump.

We get access to the Fairgrounds today to start setting up, and will be having our monthly meeting tomorrow where I hope to get more information on some of what is expected to show up this year.

In the mean time, here's another video link (repost from another thread) of the 60hp Fairbanks Morse Diesel being started up.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9YJad5e2V8

It's a little dark, especially in the corner where I filmed the smaller Fairbanks engine/compressor being started and running to build up the air pressure to start the big one with, but it shows the entire process of getting it fired up.

The Diesel is in the building next to the Sawmill, along with the Blacksmith shop with lineshaft equipment, and a few other displays.

Here's a couple shots of one of the more unusual Massey Harris tractors. A pair of 44 Diesels hitched together for a twin engine 4 wheel drive.

And since we are featuring Stover engines this year, I loaded up my 1927 4hp KG Stover on the back of my 37 Ford and while I had it in at the fairgrounds I ran it up the road to the local Wendy's Car show with a show poster in the window.

Glad I got to meet you, your dad and Joe along with a few of the guys I already knew but haven't seen for awhile. No way was my 1/2 day long enough to see the show.
