Default Briggs 8 hp oil leak output shaft cover

I have a 8 hp Briggs that goes to my billy goat vacuum sweep.
I was hoping for some ideas about where the leak could becoming from the cover area.
I have a big job to remove it from the billy goat frame. The impeller has to come off the crankshaft.
You can hopefully under stand I donít want to tear into this. But Iím sick of cleaning up the oil.
Any tips appreciate

Hello. Is your engine's crankcase vented ? Engines build up pressure in the crankcase from compression leaking past the rings forcing oil to leak out of seals and gaskets and gets worse as the engine wears out.

Ttry lifting up on the impellor. if it moves, the bearing in the sump plate is worn and the shaft is wobbling. That in turn allows oil to get past the crankshaft seal. While you are at it - check the sump plate bolts. They tend to loosen with vibration, and the gasket begins to leak. If loose, just dont tighten - replace the gasket!

There's a lot of vibration from that hunk of an impeller spinning around. I'd say the sump cover gasket is the suspect. While it's off you might as well replace the crank seal. Both are a cheap fix for you.
