The JB – JC series of Onans are great units in “my” opinion, & yours is a relatively newer unit. Mine are all gas or gasoline units so I am not familiar with the diesel units, but if the fuel pump is the most $ you put into it, I would do it in a heart beat. I assume you have the option of an elec. fule pump that may be much cheaper.

It really depends on if your talking about the Lift Pump or the Injector Pump. Max is right though, your DJB is one that "Many" would give their Arm, Leg and First Born, to have, especially seeing that it is a YD Genend (Spec Code AB) and a 12 Lead Genend, (Voltage Code -18) to boot. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see that it was an Extended Stack Genend as well. The Lift Pump can be replaced with an electric Diesel Fuel Pump, from any NAPA Store. The Injector Pump will need to go to a GOOD Injector Pump Repair Facility, that has a Flow Bench. If the Injector Pump is the problem, then have the Injectors rebuilt at the same time. It won't add significantly to the cost of the repair, and then you know where you stand, with those. Should you choose to junk it, (Crazy Idea) the parts are worth a Pile of Gold, to some of the other DJB Owners here, and around the country.

I haven't had to do a DJB Injector Pump, for years, but the way to find the BEST Shop, in your area, is go to the nearest Freeway, find the BIGGEST Truck Stop, go in and find the HEAD Mechanic, and ask him who he sends his Injector Pumps to.... 10,000 Truckers can't be wrong..... and He will know.... I can't imagine a DJB Injector and Pump rebuild going for more that $200US, but that is just a guess... Your Genset is worth way more than that, just for PARTS.

Why do you think your pump needs a rebuild? If its gummed up, just a good cleaning will probably work for you. If rusted/pitted, might get pricey. If they have to buy parts, it will cost more than just a good cleaning.

You seem to be wondering what your generator is worth, generator values are very fluid thing, depend on location, time of year (storm season approaching or not), etc. Having said that a running YD series DJB with a 12 lead generator end in overall good condition in my current local market would be in the $1,500+ range, maybe even $2,500 with the right options to the right person if a storm is on the way. Finding that right person in your local areas (since freight is such a killer) is always the challenge.
