Default Advance 16 horse Straw Burner

We finally got the 16 Advance home this past Thursday and went to work on it Saturday morning. It took a couple hours to wash the boiler out good and by noon we had the engine loose and rolling over. The condition is even better than we had expected. There is still a fair bit of original paint and pin striping and even the original stenciling on the jacket under the cylinder. We are going to carefully clean the gunk from the stenciling as you can still read "Advance Straw Burner." To top it off, I found the original number plate in the bottom of the ash pan. The engine is a 1900. Everything looks to be mostly original and complete.

Congrats on you getting the ol' girl home finally! I know you're proud to get it home-it's been a LONG time coming.
