Default Mower Ads from Western Auto Flyer

I just checked 1 for id'ing a lawnmower and thought I would post 3 pics of what the mowers looked like . Note that Western Auto contracted with the lowest bidder for their machines and these riders are same as Springfields.I have more of these flyers I was able to retrieve from a shed that I bought contents from 20 years ago.
These 3 pages are from the Jubilee Sizzler sale flyer from May of 1962.

here is a ad from winter of 1960 for a roto tiller.
The next 1's of the 2 tiller and riders and color ad's for the push mowers are from 1964.

The folks had one of those Reo Royale mowers back in the day. The motor went bad and they got another reel type that did well enough. I was very young then but I recall Dad using a push reel type for a while till he got the first Craftsman with the aluminum deck and rotary blade. That was when they finally had a unit that could handle the larger grass and didn't have to turn the cows onto the side yard to keep ahead of the grass. Always thought it would be nice to get another Reo, missed one on a local sale last year. Didn't see it till too late. That's what happens when they run 3 rings at once.

Love the wagon ads... You gotta love 1950's optimism...

picked up a fall and winter of 1978 western auto catalog but it only had 1 ad in it for a lawnmower.
I am thinking this 1 is built by Gilson. I have a Gilson with a 8 hp engine. Used it for a butt buggy at a couple shows for several years
