Default Allen Magneto Testing Station

I thought I would show it working with the mag
sure is noisy on the film compared to running it in the room

it' not 100 percent right but think it's close and not bad for 80 plus years old

the noise is the coupler and advance this is one heavy unit never tried anything else on it
the mag was in it when I bought it has lot of different adapters

What a lovely display that would make at a Rally. Thanks for posting.
I wonder what is making the noise, the coupling itself?

I like it! From the looks of it, you can also test generators.

The noise could be a worn/dry bearing.

Elden

I took the mag off the motor runs nice a little noise from the rpm cable witch is normal

the hub of the mag has a big spring init makes a loud click plus the 2 pin couple must transfer noise

looks like thee is a place to place a buzz coil for testing there are 4 heavy casing brackets for 2 shelf to place batteries on for other tests

2 guys have trouble moving this the clear plastic disk has been changes it is a timming wheel

I have one of these of a different make, which I cannot recall at the moment. Nowhere near as nice as yours, but still pretty neat.

LOVE the GE variable repulsion motors! And that looks like either an original or period lightbulb on yours. Really love that!
