Default A Great Honour (Coolspring)

Friday morning and afternoon Dad and I were given the amazing opportunity to start the oldest running internal combustion engine in North America. The engine is a Crossley piano base slide valve that carries the Otto, Langen and Crossley patents. It's a 3.5Hp model that is approximately the same size as our 8Hp!!

The engine dates to 1879 and is a full 10 years older than ours. Thanks to Dick & John for allowing us to play with this wonderful machine!!

Enjoy

Jonathan

I was there next to the camera man and experienced the start up . It's one of many impressive pieces of engine history being displayed at the Coolspring Power Museum
