Anyone attended these and wish to comment on how things are going? Any special "prizes" show up? Attendance and number of vendors? I sure wished I could have made it to Coolspring. Events have required me to stay close to home however.

![]() I've been up @ Portland the past 2-days. The weather has been decent for this time of year(no mud).I'm heading back tomorrow for a half day. We've had a nice turnout of vendors & the crowd was growing today. There is alot of everything in the vendor areas, mainly garden tractors & parts, but there are several of us gas engine collectors there as well.People are buying & selling items if they are priced to sale.I've had several newbies buying & asking questions about gas engines, which is great to see new people interested in the hobby. This fall swapmeet is growing larger each year, & could be as big as the spring swapmeet in the future.

The weather finally broke around noon yesterday at Coolspring. But, the rain drops were falling again by 1:00. It was off and on showers most of the afternoon until 2:30 or so. The field was emptying fast on Friday morning, but Dad & I stayed until almost 5:00 soaking in all of the engines and visiting friends. Crappy weather or not, it still beat being at work!!

The weather yesterday at Portland was awesome! Although there was tons of lawnmower stuff, I still manged to bring two flywheel engines home, along with a small Johnson Iron Horse washing machine engine.
![]() Got both engines running today in short order. The Hercules needs more tinkering.

Thursday and Friday were both good at Coolsprings. Picked up a Maytag 72, a Johnson Iron Horse and a Power Products 1000. Lots of vendors and buyers. Still wish I would have found a decent priced Briggs FH.

I don't know when some of these guys were at Coolspring , their posts are dated Oct,14,15,16,17. The show started Thursday Oct. 18. I arrived thursday morning 8:45 AM. It was cloudy and windy with the sun peaking out once in a while. I kept my jacket on but no rain all day. About 6:00 PM there was a light sprinkle of rain and over the next hour the rain came in and it rained most of the night and hard at times. On friday I was there 7:30 Am and it was still cloudy but by 8:00 the sky was clearing and we had clear blue sky all day. It was warm and could not ask for a more beautiful fall day. There may have a few small mud puddles from the night before around but not anything like in previous years. If you wanted to walk in a mud puddle you would have go out of your way to do it. There was a mist of rain early Saturday morning but no rain. I left about 12:00 Ron
