Default What Model, Year, Value?

It is not locked up and seems to be in very good condition. It's been kept under roof for the last 30 years. I'm new at selling engines and will be posting several others as I dig them out. This is a good place to find a value of what I have, including model and year or even how I can find that information for myself.

Thank you!

So I take it this is a "for sale" advertisement?

no, not yet. I am trying to get information on it or even possibly a value? Eventually, yes, it will be sold. I have several types of engines to research before we start selling.

thank you!

List them in the engineads section for best offer.

Anyone can look at sales that ended on EBay. This is close to what you have:
VINTAGE BARN FIND LONG BASE MAYTAG GAS HIT MISS ENGINE MOTOR LOT # 3 See original listing
Item Sold
Condition: For parts or not working
“the engine is stuck!!! NO RETURNS”
Ended:
Feb 18, 2018 , 9:11AM
Winning bid:
US $147.50
Shipping: $55.00 Standard Shipping
A running Model 92 long base like yours just sold for $235
List it on Engine Ads at whatever price you want to get for it.

Exclamation Re: What Model, Year, Value?

Model 92 long frame. It is a 'hit & miss' governed engine, with the governor working on the ignition system. It uses ignition interupt to regulate speed. EBay tends to be high, as people are willing to bid things up. Not all bids are honest either. For a non-running 92, I would usually pay between $75 and $100 dollars. Some parts can be pricey, especially if you need a con rod, crank, or magneto. Those are worst case items. If you have spark, and the engine turns and has compression, you can expect around $125. A running engine would bring between $150 and $175 here in the NJ area. Other locations may vary. If no spark or the tank is really gummed up, the price goes down hill from there, as well. If you look at the rim of the flywheel, you will see a stamped in number over one of the cooling fins. If you can post it, the engine can be dated by month and year. It helps if selling!

Wesley has given you good info - If you wish to sell, place an ad in the Enginads forum, here on the Stak. Only a small donation is asked for, AFTER you sell the item. If it does not sell, you can relist if you wish. If the item does not sell, you owe nothing. Of course, you can list it on evilbay, but by the time you're done with listing costs, fees and all the other BS, you are better off listing here! By the way, you cannot list for sale items on the regular forums. If you do, they will be removed by a moderator and you will get a nasty note. Thanks for your co-operation

Andrew

Andrew is right, eBay may net you a few extra bucks up front but after fees to eBay and the cut PayPal gets it is much easier to sell on engine ads. As far as value goes I would ask around $125 and consider lower offers. You could get it running and buy s breather for it to complete it. This would ad a little value but remember it's a pretty common engine. Good luck with what ever way you decide.

In this area of Maryland I would say $125 - $150 would be about right in that condition. If it were super original with paint, decals and all maybe $250 or so but it's not that. Kevin
