Default Diesel Power - Magazine 1940s

Hi

Looking for a copy of an article in: Diesel Power, Volume 24, 1946. Pages 588-589, 614

which covers the Ingalls 4-S diesel locomotive.

See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ingall...ite_ref-GL_2-3 at the end.

I think this mag still in production but it is the 1946 edition that I want. Who can help or advise where I may locate.

Thanks

Charles Harris

Charlie, I will look for the 1946 Issue you seek but, I don't think my scattering of Diesel Power mags includes many from 1946. However volume 19 of Diesel Engine catalog (1954) lists Superior's locomotive engines and shows the model 65-LX-8 in the horsepower range indicated on the Wikipedia site. wiki shows the engine as a v-8 but no v-8 engines are shown in the Superior listing--the closest in HP is the 65-LX-8, a straight 8 of 12 3/4 bore x 15 stroke, delivering 1600-1750 HP @ 600-660 RPM. The engine is pictured.

Hi Enginenut2

Thanks for the great info.

Fingers crossed you have the 1946 mag.
Is it possible to let me have a copy of the mag article from 1954 for Superior engines ?
I live in New Zealand and difficult for me to find such magazines.
Catch me on swchuck at gmail dot com
