Nar--thanks for the story on the inverted Kenton. Kenton most likely called their inverted model a vertical. I have only seen adds that listed it at 3HP. Hopefully somebody saved the block, probably the only surviving part left of a very unusual engine.

John, Your probably correct. Either engines were horizontal or vertical. Stiles Brabley told me this. They only cared about the positon of the cylinder, not where the head was. I've never seen original literature that called an engine inverted, just vertical.

Andrew, If you only have 105 on you're list of Ohio Built engines you are missing about 40 or 50. I have lost track of how many my Dad has found, He has been doing resurch for over 20 years. Pm me and we can compair some nots....DH
