This is a Todd Engine mfd. in Warren Pa. -only one known. You can tell that it is a Jacobson. 1 1/2 hp. There is a different mixer on this engine. The serial number is a Jacobson number.

One with the mag bracket is more uncommon. It does look original down to the starting crank and skids. Should take the square gas tank and can muffler. Too bad you didn't clean off the serial number.

Bob, any chance you obtain the serial number off of the name tag? It would be interesting to know when it was built.

Don, was Todd an engine builder or a selling agent?

I will have this post and some following to help people with the restoration of their Engines, In that I will show the pin stripping found on the Jacobson my father and I own.

I hope this is helpful to those that are curious about this.

The first 3 photos show the water hopper, and the last shows the crank guard.

Front View, Muffler side view, Side Shaft Side view (with tags)

The base, flywheels, crank guard, everything except the Water Hopper and the Wood Skids have NO pin striping and are just a dark Red / Brown Color.

My next post includes pictures of the Wood Skids.

And Lastly,

A view of the Entire Engine, and a video of it running after many hours of work, still a few more bugs to work out, but I left for work and then college again.

I really like these Jacobson Engines, even though we haven't been a Jacobson Engine owner for too long.

Enjoy!

As far as I can tell, Jacobson sold 1 1/2 hp engines to local people to sell on their own. The Todd engine is an example. Whether the tag was stamped at the plant is unknown.

Here is an email sent to Don, with information on some Jacobson engines sent to Australia in 1912-1913.

Also, I received indication from New Zealand that Jacobson's No. 12906 and No. 16752 had made it there in about 1917-18.
The 2 engines have Jacobson name tags and pictures are included in the registry here:
