Is your rod missing or just worn out? If worn, it might pay too have it bored and have bushings installed. Check your wrist pin and crank pin too - they wear and get out of round.

Plug it and silver brass or weld it as you would say.
Then rebore it.

A man named Larry Simson used to bush these rods, with a thin bushing. he would bore the bush to fit the crank, after it was trued. The rod was bored to just true, and then heated, the bush made to an identical OD, and cooled with dry ice. The 2 items were then assembled, and when temps equalized, an interferance fit locked the bush in place.

Your only other recourse, either braze in the bore and re-drill and ream to fit, or have another rod cast in bronze, using the original as a pattern. I think trying to braze these rods would be problematic, as the bronze would be oil soaked, and would present problems with adherence due to the oil impregnated in the material.
