Photo GM Diesel identification help

I am looking to identify this engine. It is the power plant for the hydraulic pump on a vintage rail crane. The radiator is stamped Detroit Diesel, but the engine has a raised logo for GM Diesel Motors.

Any help and guidance is much appreciated, including redirection within this forum or to other outside groups.

I would guess it would be a 2-53 Detroit.

GM Diesel became Detroit Diesel in 1965. If it says GM that tells you something about the age. The serial number would tell you more.

The model and S/N are stamped in the block behind the secondary fuel filter. AL
