Does anyone recognize this old girl? No tags, markings or numbers that i can see. Any info would be great! Thanks.

Yes, Homelite. Those are neat! Very high quality. But I have never seen one with a four pole generator before. Very interesting. Would be interesting to see under the brush cover, to see if it is AC or DC.

Exclamation Re: Unknown Engine / Generator

Homelite definitely - military, not so sure. I see the muffler is not mounted. Do NOT run with open exhaust, you will burn the piston in a hurry if you do. What kind of shape is it in? These are screamers - 3600 RPM. I have seen them in 110 VDC, 115 VAC and 220 VAC versions. If you try to run, check out the flywheel and governor for movement. The governor is inside the flywheel mount assembly, and it tends to wear the bearings out. The governor acts as a throttle to the intake charge. When the bearings go bad, it allows the magnets in the flywheel to hit the magneto core, either magnetizing it or breaking it off its mount. The seals can go bad too. Not many parts left for these old units. Mcmaster-Carr may have bearings, and NAPA might be able to match up a seal. You might be able to get rings from sponsors here on the Stak.

Thanks! Great info. It looks to be complete, but it's seized and the manifold is cracked. Neat old engine though.
