Stover CT2 trying to figure out what year it was made

Default Stover CT2 trying to figure out what year it was made

Here is what the plaque has written on it, does anyone know how to tell me what year it is? Thanks in advance. Stover Engine Type CT2 No. TB240 o44 Speed 575. 2 1/2 hp

If Joe Maurer has not seen this already, contact him here on the Stak. He has access to Stover production records, which will tell you build date and to who was the original purchaser. In the meantime, under the working side flywheel, cast into the block, should be a casting date. Stover cast their blocks and let them set outside 'to season'. This allowed the block to exhibit any casting flaws, and usually, if good, the engine was machined and built within a year or 2 of casting, sometimes sooner.

Darren, My Brothers Stover ct-2 is number #23----,Joe has it as oct 15th 1936 shipped, so yours is maybe early 1937 or so , lets see how close I was
