Default Can anyone Identify this Hedstrom carburetor?

Going through my dads garage the other day. He handed me a carburetor that he has had since 6 years of age (now he is in his 70's). He said he thought it was for a motorcycle but was never sure which kind. Just wondering if anyone can let me know what it fits? The tag reads: Hedstrom Improved Carburetor , Hendee MFG. Co. Springfield MASS, USA. Patent Jan.28, 09.

Thats pretty early in motorcycles so (and correct me if I am wrong) Indian likely did not have a formal model identification system yet. It would seem quite likely that it was just an Indain. Just like Wizzer motor bikes are just Wizzers. Again this is way out of my area of expertise so I am sure someone will have more specific information.

I don't know if there is a model or not, but it would be off the v-twin (2 cylinder), not the single cylinder.

Hi, Just found your article on the Hedstrom carby,It is from 1912 to 1915
as it has the auxhillary idling jet on the side which was introduced in 1912.
The badge should say Hedstrom "Improved"carbureter .Just because it was originally patented in 1909 does not mean it is 1909.
It is strange to me that most of the people that misdate Indian motorcycles(and parts) are American, even though copies of brochures and parts books are available in the USA not many make use of them.

This is a 1912 to 1915 Hedstrom carby because it has the auxiliary idling jet on the side of the carby, which was added in 1912,hence the word "improved" on the badge,

This is a 1912 to 1915 Hedstrom Carby, hence the word "improved"on the badge. An idling jet was added in 1912 and can be clearly seen.
Many people misdate these carbies as the date of patent remains the same on all Hedstrom carbies.

Eight year old thread but yeah, that carb probably has a $1200 price tag on it.
And I trust it sold very quickly.
