realize this thread is older than dirt, but... leakers can also be slowed (for limited use) by pulling the thermostat and running without a gasket in the radiator pressure they wont leak nearly as bad, yet with water flowing, it might run lightly loaded without overheating for quite a bit... of course, best to fix it, but might keep a dying machine out of the scrapyard a just a little longer
