Default ideal 2hp need your help

found this engine but cant kind find any info to get started. can you guys help? ideal 2hp m type ser. # 9958 looking for a year and poss. small parts. any info will help with new project. thanks Dan

Nice Find Dan, you have a very early Ideal Olds Engine, I had a 2 1/2 hp M just like it. It was one of the best running engine that i ever owned. Parts are not easy to find but there may be a few out there. ( Guard that carb you will never find another !! ) I think I still have a casting of the ex rocker if you need one. Tom

tom, thanks for the help...can you guess on the year buy the way it looks. only missing one part. blade for hit and miss stop. do you know did it run off a mag or did it use battery and buzz coil? thanks dan

My 2 1/2 hp Ideal M was about 1912 and ran on bat and coil.

Dan,
I have a Ideal 2 hp M and mine is fired by a mag and has the same mixer. I have never found any info other than a short description in the BYB.
