Default Briggs and Stratton model A - oil cup on hand crank

Looking to see how to remove the "cup, oil" on a hand crank model A to add grease. Not sure if it screws off or just pull out. I don't want to damage anything. it looks like a round head bolt and then a square coming off one side. Sorry no closer picture

Its an oil cup with a little spring loaded lid.
That little square bit is the hinge sticking off the side of the lid.
Not meant to be removed as it is a pressed fit into the oil hole.

so just pull on the non hinged side and it will open? Mine looks painted and couldn't tell it was a hinge......and then load with oil/grease?

Hadn't looked at the one here in 20 years but your post prompted me to! Mine too, a little flip-top spring loaded cover. I'd ask you to walk up to it and gently use your left hand middle or index finger nail and lift it up. This one here is 45 degrees from yours so I used my right.
EDIT: That ol' boy hasn't ran in awhile. Nice save!

I just looked at my 1945 Briggs model B and it also has the Gits oiler. A model B is closely related to the model A with improvements. My two model A's have rope starters, so they don't have use for a oiler.
