Default Server Maintenance - Hard Drive Change

The RAID 10 Alarm went off so the techs will be swapping out one of our four hard drives tonight (11/11/12) between 1 and 4 AM Central Time.

Employee Response - 2012-Nov-11 01:32 (GMT-0600) [Update 7]

Hello,

We will be starting your scheduled maintenance shortly. Please be aware that the server may become inaccessible once the maintenance begins. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to update this ticket. This ticket will be updated again when the maintenance has been completed and the server is back online.

Thank you,

Paul J. SBT

Employee Response - 2012-Nov-11 01:57 (GMT-0600) [Update 8]

At this time the drive has been replaced, the array is rebuilding and the server is back online and responding to network requests.

We will continue to monitor the rebuild until its completion.

Please note that we have found out that the RAID card firmware is currently out of date. Unfortunately due to the array rebuilding, we cannot update the firmware until the rebuild is complete and the array is optimal.

You can update the firmware yourself once the RAID rebuild is complete using the instructions in the link below. (Please note that this will require more downtime)

If you would like for us to update the firmware for you, please let us know if you would like for us to update the firmware immediately after the rebuild is complete or if you would like for us to update it in another scheduled maintenance window.

Thank you,

Employee Response - 2012-Nov-11 04:07 (GMT-0600) [Update 9]

At this time the rebuild is only at 31%. We will check back on it in a few hours and provide you with an update.

Employee Response - 2012-Nov-11 08:24 (GMT-0600) [Update 10]

At this time the rebuild is only at 89%. We will check back on it in a few hours and provide you with an update.

Thank you,
Justin S. SBT

Employee Response - 2012-Nov-11 10:34 (GMT-0600) [Update 11]

The array has completed the rebuild and is now optimal. As mentioned previously, the RAID card firmware is out of date. The scheduled maintenance window has ended due to the time of the rebuild. If you would like to schedule a new window for the firmware update, or if you would like us to perform this immediately, please let us know. Also, you can update the firmware yourself using the instructions in the link below.

(Please note that this will require more downtime)

Please let us know how you would like to proceed.

Thank you,
Justin S. SBT
