Default Is This a Tool for Hammering Saw Mill Blades ?

Brought home a tool that I'm told is for hammering very large blades. Wondering if you've ever seen a beast like this thing ??? Originally thought this was a manual rail road switch.

A sawman at the Two Top Mountain Steam Show told me it was used on it's side mounted to a wall, or at least that's what he saw at the sharpening shop he visits.

Any productive direction appreciated.

Over 1000+ views and still no one has a idea what this is. Someone at a tractor and steam show told me he saw something similar mounted on the side of the wall, and was used for "dinging" large circular saw teeth.

I do think it is for use on saw blades. We have one that is similar but smaller that came from Homestake mine. They had their own sawmills for cutting timbers and lumber. We have never used the device, but it is adjustable like yours for various blade diameters. I thought maybe it was used to set the teeth to the proper angle but I have heard of hammering blade to make them run correctly. I will be gone for a couple weeks but I will try to post a picture when I get back.

My guess Gene is it is used to hammer the angle of every other tooth then flip it over and to the others. There's got to be a youtube instructional video somewhere's LOL...!
