That's how I've always read them.

The tougher one to read with less than perfect eyes is my vernier caliper!

I've found that my tools have gotten blurrier over the last 50 years.
Do such things just degrade, or am I not maintaining them properly?

That's how I trained a couple Newbies 25-30 years ago when nobody else could teach them.

Luckily They were a Little Better at adding up change than some of the cashiers I've run into over the years.
