Default Weeden #14

Hello All!

I was just given a Weeden #14 engine.

My questions are these:

1. What type of fuel do I use in the burner?
2. What do I use for wicks in the burner?
3. The governor is broken off. Does anyone happen to have one I could buy?
4. What should I use for a governor belt?

Denatured alcohol for the burner. You can get it at Home Depot or any place like that.
Cotton mop string will work for wicks or you can check with oil lamp parts suppliers for different kinds of wick. You can also search eBay for round wicking.
New reproduction governors can be found on eBay.
Governor belt can just be a piece of string.

I also want to find some of those metal "spring belts" to drive accessories and governors but I don't know what to search for. Does anyone have any ideas?

www.weedensteam is the place for replacment Weeden parts, and engine identification. For govenor drive belt I use Wilesco Z80, just make sure when you cut them to length, don't cut too much off the tapered "screw in" end, and make it too short.
