Default Eclipse Hand Hole Cover

Anybody know where to get a hand hole cover for a 10 HP Eclipse vertical boiler, 3" x 4", curved across short axis, boiler diameter about 38"? Ours cracked and the inspector wants to see a "new" one. A good used one would work. The 4" dimension is running vertical.- Jim Mackessy

Jim, I have some at my shop that came off a vertical boiler of similar dimensions. I'll check today when i'm down there and let you know.

Nobody ever said this was an "economical" hobby, either. I'm beginning to think the word "boiler" should have "$$$$$" after it every time. I guess we have to settle on being glad we can keep them going at all. - JM

I don't think $105 for a FORGED STEEL handhole plate is a bad deal at all!!

Steamsatisfies, thank you very much for checking. We're working on a few other leads, if those don't pan out, we'll have to cough up the $105.00 for an Oswald. It's not that that is overly expensive, especially considering they are available at all, so buying one there is not a bad thing, but the tube job did put a pretty nasty dent in the hobby budget! - JM
