Default Fairbanks & Morse Z

I have a Fairbanks & Morse Z style C self oiling with a 5 3/4 in.bore and 8in.stroke. Can't find serial number anywhere. Trying to figure out hp. & model. Thanks

That sounds to be a fairbanks Morse Z style C model 208 12 hp. Not sure where the serial number may be on it. The older models had a small raised boss on the top of the water hopper, thats were the serial was. The earlier zs had it stamped on the end of the crankshaft. Im not sure of the serial location on the self oiling engines!! Cody

Is it not on the crankcase right next to the cover?

The brass tag reads 8 hp. @ 550 rpm 9 hp. @ 650 rpm

5 3/4 bore and 8 in stroke is a 208 for sure 8-12 hp
