I had planned on it, but as oft happens, those plans went astray.

Melvin Pierce, Mark Ohlde, son Mike, nephew Randy and myself will be there, not with bells on, but with whistles on. I don't know who else is coming FOR POSITIVE?

I, of course, will be there. The official dates of the show are the 11th and 12th. We will be there on the 10th but not much happens. Thanks in advance to all who plan on attending. I look forward to putting some faces with the names I know. It should be a good time and well worth the trip.

Does this mean that I have to figure the distance from MN versus the distance from southern IN again?

Andy,
As you know first had that it is always a good time at any show that Rev. Jim Jake and Mike McKnight show up for. Throw in the fact that Gary Yeager and company are coming. Also I have learned that Monte Topp and Jim Evans will be there also. Monte and Jim are the northerns version of the two forementioned southern folk anticipated on showing up. So pardon my french, but hell will have to freeze over before I will skip this years show. So what I suggest for you is that you plan a trip to northwest Iowa and come join in on the anticipated fun! ![]() ![]() Lawrence |

Like Lawrence says, we plan to be there. Will probably have our 1/2 scale there and hopefully also will have Heritage Park's "Model T steam engine service truck" there.
I plan to get there on Friday and will probably be camping in the worker campground. Do we need to bring the steam kettle along for supper Saturday?

I think we planned on the 10th there as a slower day where you aren't under the gun because "it is the show". We'll just kick back and enjoy the day. Gary ![]() |

For those not familiar with the show, please provide details as to why we might want to wander that direction....besides the 40 Reeves & 110 Case?....and possibly the "characters" that may be in attendance.

I haven't seen the big Reeves since about 25 years ago when it was at Waverly and I was drag racing across the road at Cedar Falls Raceway.
About 3/4 sure of going on Saturday, I work on Fridays. ![]() |

Garrie,
Let me see..."characters..." Garrie from MT (John are you going too?) TX boiler inspector who is coveting a certain 16 Reeves... ![]() Monte who seems to need to defend himself... Mr McKnight aka "loud-mouth S.O.B. from Tennessee" and recent owner to step into the dark side..... Larry Mix (MI) Randy Schwerin who used to run the 40 Sorry Tom, no good descriptions for you....drag racer? Jim is cooking... Lawrence, I don't know where to start....bringing a feathered "friend" home for the kid....who was named after another brand!?! Hmmm, & those are only the beginning.... "Characters" fit.... Beth(y),
What can I say...other than availability! A Case is like everyone's first car...you would like to have the corvette...but your bank account can only afford the jalopy down the road! All kidding aside, the little Case has been fun for Nicholas. And I stress for Nicholas. As some of my fine feathered friends seem to think that I purchased the engine in his name only, and it really is for myself. I can clear that up for everyone. Running Nicholas's little 1/2 scale Terning engine is like me trying to ride his bike. I can do it...but it isn't purty! ![]() As for the Osage show...I don't know a whole lot about what they have going on at the show...other than some sawing and a plowing demonstration with the big 40hp Reeves. I am mainly going because so many "characters" are planning to show. That and I do want to see the 40hp Reeves strut her stuff while pulling, I believe, a fourteen bottom plow. Jim and Monte, I was hoping that you were bringing your steam cooker for this event. I was bidding on one on ebay...to only loose it in the end. Hopefully I can acquire one prior to the event. If not, I am thinking about bringing the GaarScott (to save face) and Nicholas's 1/2 scale (to prove who's it really is) down for the show. If we do, I like to make GaarScott burgers and such in the smokebox of my engine. Just a thought if you decide to put on a feed like you did down at Forrest City a couple weeks back. Once again please tell Lyn how much I enjoyed her spaghetti. And no, my second helping wasn't as large as she likes to exaggerate. ![]() Lawrence Last edited by GaarScott; 07-17-2007 at 08:39:43 AM.
