Default Re: Lock Washers different sizes?

I've seen too many split lock washers cracked and one half of them fallen out, sometimes both halves are gone and I've seen split washers come out looking like flat washers with a split on one side. no "locking" value at all. For that reason I've gone to using medium strength Loctite.

Although I've never used it, another threadlocking compound is made by Vibratight. Apparently you can apply this to threads, let it dry and then assemble later, saves fooling with a liquid in conditions that aren't optimum.. They claim it allows adjustment of threaded fasteners too, so that might be useful in certain applications.
