Default Unusual Post Vise _Can Anyone Identify?

While shopping this morning I found this unusual post style vise, but maybe its not a post vise because it has no post. All the mounting hardware looks like it is either original, or at least been there for a long time. Not really sure how this is supposed to be mounted, anyone know anything about this style of vise?
