I only met him once. At Waukee Iowa swap meet about 11 years ago. Bought a governor and webster bracket from him for my 12hp Champion Hercules.

Wow that was fast he had just called me looking for a part shortly before the stroke hit ! We talked for a little bit but as it turns out we should have chatted a little longer. Rest in peace my friend .

I am pretty sure Kenny was one of the most known persons on the circuit. I always headed straigt to his bus when needing parts.
His bannishment from the US was a complete travisty of our system and just goes to show how powerful Barney can be, it is true the word is more powerful than the sword .
For those that were not sure, as Kenny stated to me, one guard at the border told him he had no problems, yet Barney wanted him to sell a part in the US,, take the money and then go back to Canada and mail the part to the buyer that had the part in his hand when he paid for it. I think they call that , "red tape maybe". Any way he sold a few parts and became banned for 5 years. The government called it smuggling.
His ban was to expire by now, but the last time we spoke he stated his vision had degraded to where he would not drive. I do not know if he actually went blind by now.
They last I bought from him were Famous parts and I was very happy.

I remember Ken from portland in the early 80s , he opened up an "M" with a sledge hammer to get the piston & rod , threw the pieces in the dumpster. Ken said "maybe that will teach that guy not to empty this thing at 5 in the morning". Now, this was a different time , & the value wasn't there like it is now. I doubt anyone would do that today.

I used Ken a few times for parts - if he didn't have it (which he usually did), he knew someone who did and you'd get a call back in a few hours.

Always polite and well-mannered when haggling over a price - I never had to worry about a negotiation "going south" with him.

I never had the pleasure to meet Ken but have been in contact with him a few times over the past couple of months. Prayers are with the family.
I feel bad for asking but is anyone picking up Kens business? He had several parts that he had found for me for my FBM 10hp hopper cooled engine.

I met Ken in the eighties, bought some of my first engines from him, a good guy and one of a kind.
