Default What is this wheel front wheel for?

The tire was a 28 x 2 1/2 clincher type. I am interested in knowing what this is from. I belive it is a front motorcycle wheel, but not certain. Thanks.

Resembles the front wheel from a "Simplex" motor bike.

I just noticed it says Eclipse, Eclipse Machine Co,
????, NY on the hub. Was that a brand?

Eclipse made hubs & clutches for many early motorcycle manufacturers. My 1919 Reading Standard has Eclipse hubs & clutch.

These pictures of my RS were taken in 1922. Your wheel is similar to the front & sidecar wheel.
