Default Baraboo Swap Meet & Auction

Just a heads up. This next coming weekend is the annual Baraboo swap meet & auction. Right now they're predicting the weather to be sunny and around 68 to 70 degrees for Friday & Sat. Hope to see you there.

Any opinions on how big the Baraboo Swap is compared to LeSueur?

It's not quite as big as LeSueur, but it's still pretty good size...the auction is the biggest draw. IMO, whatever Boo does, they do it RIGHT!!! It's our #1 favorite show & swap!!!

I hope that the 1.5 inches of rain that the news said fell in Baraboo last night drains off all right.

I think we'll bring our boots just in case.

See you Saturday morning, Bob

Baraboo show is located on Sand Hill rd. There is a reason for that. The show grounds fields usually drains the water pretty fast ( sand ). Enjoy !!!!!!

Jolly good swap meet!

We found an old Webster M mag for our Economy,
came on a bracket for a Nelson Brothers engine, so we'll sell the mag bracket/ignitor shortly to pay for the old mag.

Got 4 cast wheels to make a cart for one of the engines.

Found the missing cam shaft grease cup for our IHC M.

A bag of rags, a couple yard ornaments,

and some tired feet.

Thanks Guys, See you in August, Bob and Karen

Made it thru 1/2 of the Swap area. Most the stuff I wanted was already sold. ( They must of had a reasonable price on it.) Talked to a lot of fellow collectors local and the ( Minnesota crowd ) and met some new ones. Hey Craig, there was a nice older FLOUR CITY TRACTOR there, I believe it was a 20-35. Passing thru to get restored.

Craig here.......good thing I'm sitting down and it's LATE........

Well, I made it through the entire thing at least once Between the watching part of the auction and the WHSEA Meeting. There seemed to be quite a few nice gas engines for sale and moving. I talked to a Lot of People that I know and a few others.

There was a Nice Little MT John Deere there, I was afraid to ask what he wanted as I had no way to haul it anyway The first tractor I ever drove was a MT at about 6 years old.

I did pick up a Gooey Little Fuller & Johnson (Thanks Bernie) and a few things from Tool Guy.

Did the Monsoon that we went through on the way home hit there? We hit it around Tomah.

I got there early on Saturday to avoid the rush & cluster-mess of people. Feet & back were killing me, so I drove thru a few of the aisles...nuttin really tripped my trigger, so I left for home. I DID see a few old friends, though. .....& missed a few, too
Had breakfast at Cracker Barrel & then P/U some donuts from DUNKIN" to bring home. Didn't run into any rain....just a little mist was all.
Kinda forgot about the opening of the new Hwy. 12...took the old way, just to be on the safe side....NO TRAFFIC on business 12.

On Saturday after driving through drizzling rain for an hour coming from the north the rain stopped just before the Dells and it stayed dry all day . The swap was very good and I was lucky enough to pick up a good (repo) oak skid for my 1.5 IHC M and also an original crank guard for my FM Z Headless for 1/3 of what I have been seeing them go for on Ebay when available. I didn't see anything in the auction that I needed enough to bid on but there were a few nice engines up for auction and some very nice steam engine tractors.

It was a good day thanks to the hard work of the Baraboo Steam and Gas Engine Club.

Doug

went up on Friday, first time we had been there. I wish I would have waited til Saturday, seems like I missed the really good stuff going up on Friday like the Flour City and the Rock Island. Dad stayed over and went back on saturday and picked up the parts for a an engine cart for our Rock Island. Also found a wire row guard for our motor cultivator. Step mom goes "oh, that would make a nice yard ornament", dad and I go "hey!". actually found another two then the next row with the full mountings so we told her she can use the one for a yard ornament but we might need it back someday .
