Smile Yard-Man Motorette Scooter

Hello Every One ,
This is a update as to what I have done with the 1960 Yard-Man Scooter .
After spending over $700.00 on the scooter trying to keep it original( parts and machine work ) the 3 HP AU85A Continental would not pull me up the hills around here .
After trying to find a engine to replace the Continental I bought a 7 HP EX21D robin with electric start , a new engine turn the key and off you go all the power I need . I would like to go faster but at 70 years old I know I don't need to .
I would like to find some body sheet metal for it but so far no luck .
Be a peace maker .
Jim

Might be able to have some made for it just as cheap. Find a decent sheetmetal or body shop to do it....

Have you called the 1-800 number for Deenis Carpenter's reoroduction parts for Cushman scooters and gotten a new catalog. They have new scooter bodies for sale. I'ii give you the number in case you don't have it. You need one of their catalogs anyway, with a scooter. The number is 1-800-476-9653. Ask for the catalog for the 1954 and older cushman scooters. He also is reproduceing 8N, 2N. and 9N FORD tractor parts. You can call the same toll free number and get one of their catalogs for FORD Tractor Parts. Their email addres is; www.dennis-carpenter.com Let me know if this helps you. Thanks, Joe

Check out the USScooterMuseum site for info on many US made scooters. The Yardman Motorettes were also sold as Allstate models in 59-61. The AU85 engines were rated at 3 hp and depended on a variable speed drive (CVT) to make them viable.

Looks like I came 6 years too late to the party. Any Yardman Motorette/Continental AU85 stuff for sale?
Thanks
Dennis
