These Maynard engine pages we owe to Ed Allandar. The book is called the "Farm Bargain Book" for 1917 and can be read here:
http://buzzcoil.brinkster.net/moody/page125.html

It is evident that by 1917, Maynard engines did not come from Jacobson but by another engine maker.

Thanks Ed! Anyone else has some Jacobson related literature?

Horsepower of the various model types later 1910s. Factory sheet.
J = Jacobson
G. E. = Montgomery Ward
M = Maynard
U = Unito

90 percent of my factory information is on a translucent material that allows blueprints to be made for factory purposes. All are hand written. This is one example of the material and writing. Each newer style engine and some old style engines had up to 12 pages listing every part needed to make the engine. When each engine was assembled the sheets were filled out for cost and quality control purposes.

Company info from Engineers Manual 1907. Notice that Charles Jacobson no longer lives in Warren and plays a minor role in the company.

Don, are you aware if some of these large Jacobson engines in the 40 to 150 hp range survived? Were they actually built or did they not pass the stage of a blueprint?

The later Maynard Engines appear to be built by Nelson Bros.

From some of my factory records for replacement parts and sales flyers 60 to 110 hp were made. There were 2 60 hp in Warren County. I don't think any still exist.

Another factory photo of the Automatic engine. It shows the air start valve below the ignitor and the compression release lever on the rocker arm.

Sometimes during WWI, from left M. J. Hammes, Wade Millis, C. W. Jamieson, H. M. Preston, W. S. Hoskins, and F. M. Knapp, president of the Jacobson Machine Manufacturing Company. Can someone identify the car?
