Very nice find! There aren't very many Superior farm engines around. I'll look in my photo archives when I get home as I know I have a picture of another that I can post. I think the one I have pictures of is an 8hp. They also built pumping engines in 2-1/2 & 5hp with longer bases to hold the gearing for the pump.

I can't find my pictures of the engine I mentioned previously. Hopefully they weren't lost when the old computer took a dump. However, I was fortunate enough to see a 2-1/2hp Superior out in public today. It has some slight differences from your engine. Unlike the 5hp pumping engines, this one has a nice "bracket" on the back end for the pump gear reduction shafts. The hopper "funnel" is also different. It's hard to see, but you can faintly make out where Superior was stenciled on the hopper above the tag.
