Default old Craftsman/power prod Points Cam broken.what model?

hey Guys, picked up this early(?) 60's Craftsman Mower with a Power Prod 2 stroke on it..not bad shape but,...the Cam for the Points is broken!..how that happens I have no idea....trying to find a replacement for it...if all the pieces were there I'd use some Devcon epoxy and give it a try.....

Anyone know what model this is?...only #'s on the Tag are:..
T 616...14...
2653049

thanks for any and all help!

We use the T616-14 to look up parts. look on the end of the condenser, does it say R E Phelon Co or Wico?

REPCO = R E Phelon Co

Tecumseh part number for cam is 610405

Phelon part number is F2545

I do not have either number

Possibly try www.vepetersen.com

Thumbs up Re: old Craftsman/power prod Points Cam broken.what model?

Thanks a lot GD...at least it's a start.
I thought about having a Machinist make one if I can't find one.
Also wondering if this particular Cam was used on what other model Tecumseh's.?
I have a different model Power Prod and the Cam in not even close.

I actually found one from a Supplier...prob well known one here(won't mention His name)....Ordered it,the Money was taken from our account the next day...and We never received the part...will be 3 weeks soon.

He has not replied to our E mails,(several)..gave us numerous excuses why he couldn't talk on the phone, said He'd call back, never did..then we blocked our Phone # and called again..as soon as He heard My Wife's Voice..he hung up.....all over an $11.00 part....
And We bought parts from Him a few years ago and the service was great...I don't get it.

I did contact Petersons and waiting for a reply.

thanks again for the link.

Don't do it.
STAK cannot be put in a position opening itself to litigation for whatever reason.......which doesn't take much of a reason these days.......

Maybe initials or state would help us. I have some old Power Products parts engines. Will look and see if they have cams still on them.

I looked at the parts engines I have, but only found on that has a cam for points. It also is a Phelon magneto but don't know is it will work. The engine is a P270 model. Don't have a way to look up part number to see if it is the same as you need. I did do some checking and There are at least 6 different part numbers for point cams on Power Products engines. If someone on here has lookup or can find if it will work on your engine, You can have it. I does have a small chip out of it in the key way area but will not affect the cam.

The number stamped into the block is P for Paul 270. I think the engine came off of a Reo rotary mower. The only thing stamped into the top of the cam is Felle or something with these letter starting with F and an arrow to sho direction of rotation. It is a very early Power Products engine. Similar design as the Lawn-Boy A series Iron Horse engine of the early 1950's. The Lawn-Boy also uses a similar cam with Lawn-Boy part number 510240.

So weeks went by and no contact from the parts seller,so we called him..he actually answered..I "explained" to Him that it was ridiculous to let himself get a fraud charge against him for an 10.00 item..
He had many excuses..like it was only a 10.00 part, his customers were idiots. His son ruined his business,He was out of town..etc ...Like John Belushi in Blues Brothers....
He made me so mad I said **** *** and hung up...He called back!..didn't get enough abuse the first time I guess.
He told me he would refund my money etc...I told him ok but I'd rather have the part, He said he had it in his hand (the part) and sent me a pic...and it never went beyond that...never sent it..never refunded the money..
So went to the Bank and filed a fraud charge...finally got the money back...

So beware..and remember...If you need Old Equipment parts...make sure you take the right Path...
oh and Mr Equipment seller....here's a pic of the Breaker point cam I no longer need from you...so don't think you hurt me by not sending the part...

Try contacting Standard Magneto in Chicago, Illinois. They might have what you are looking for.
