Default 6 in Atlas Lathe Compound Slide Pattern

I started a new project. I'm converting a 6 inch atlas compound slide into a foundry pattern I'll be posting get up weekly if you are interested in how this is done have a look here

If you raise the pad the AXA tool holder mounts to, would you not then have to lower the tool to get it back on center, thus putting it back at same height where it hits the compound rest?

Considering the steady supply of Atlas parts on ebay, why would you decide to cast them? Of course if you can start reproducing all the parts and get price down low enough to stop the parting out of the old machines that would be ok with me

i'm not sure i understand but the pad only needs to be maybe 1/8" height so the toop post can rotate fully . i think the tool blocks have enough adjustment to make this work fine

the reason im making them is i have a customer with steady business selling them already. he makes them out of steel but it doesn't have the same look as the oem parts and he would like to have the modification as a option . another benefit is its not worn out and of course we are saving good machines frome getting parted out . i not a big fan of that . i will spend more to reproduce my self a new part rather then dismantle something that is still working.
