Default Re: Classic Old Engine Photos

The engine room of an Italian waterworks in the Trentino after occupation by the Austrian military. Power by a single cylinder air blast Diesel of about 25hp built by Franco Tosi & C., Legnano/Milano after 1907. A special feature of Tosi´s Diesels was the arrangement of the three stage compressor hanging down into the foundation and driven by a crank on the left hand side of the crankshaft (under a cast iron cover). As in many municipal waterworks at the time nothing had been spared to make the engine room as fine as possible (in contrast to the military installations above).
