Question Need Information on Reo Engine

I have a small engine like I have never seen before, would like to have information on.
The tag says Reo Motors Inc. Model 211 Type E1 Serial Number 35197.
It doesn't say what horse power it is.It has a reverse gear made into it,the engine turns one way and the pulley turns the other. The cyclinder sits at a forty five degree angle.

Floyd,
You have a 1951 Reo. It should have a flat gas tank, automatic rewind starter, mesh type air cleaner, 2 to 1 gear reduction. Its rated at 1-3/4hp @ 4000rpm. I picked one just like it up at a auction 2 weeks ago. They are good runners! All reos are slant cylinder engines with different carb/fuel tank/starter set ups. I've got a manual, if you want a copy.

Thanks!
Richard

All the REOs are built with the PTO coming of the camshaft, this is why the drive shaft rotates in a different direction than the engine and has a 2-1 reduction.

If you have a manual for a Reo 211 E-1, could you please mail me a copy of it to: Justin Keffer, 347 Hairetown Road, Jonesborough, TN, 37659? Would be very much appreciated.
Thanks.

You have noticed I'm sure the crank turns backward to normal but the pto is normal. Smart engineering since you got the first step of speed reduction for free since you have to buy a cam and crank gear anyway. Sweet running little engines. Air cleaners are hard to find.
