Question Farmall Rear Tyres

Does anyone know where I can get some 13.5 32 rear tyres from. I live in West Australia & had no luck here so managed to get hold of a guy in Brisbane - he can supply me with two brand new tyres for the measly sum of $2200.00 Each with out tubes & of course he would have to charge me freight? So by the time I get the rear tyres fitted it wouldn't be to shy of 5K. My old Farmall M would be so proud driving around with a lovely set of new boots but considering the price I think it would be cheaper to buy a complete tractor with tyres already fitted. Any suggestions or thoughts/advice would be appreciated.
Cheers Irish

Does sound a bit steep, most row crop farmall M's here have 14.9/38 rear tires over here, the standard tread versions run on 30 inch dia rears. 32's here are used on the larger harvester/ combines and are considerably wider. Miller tire that specialises in vintage applications may have what you need, they advertise in most vintage tractor magazines here and probably have a web site if you Google it. F.J.W.

Irish, who ever that is quoting you that price is totally ripping you off, there has been a couple of companys had a run of 13.50 x32 tyres made in china and they were retailing around 750.00 each, not sure how many are left but I am sure there will be some .

38's on all 3 of our M's, 2 are running 15.5 x 38's and one will have either 16.9 or 18.4 x 38's....

The tire size on the M's in Australia, is it the norm for all or is it a metric measurement? Or are these tractors in a different wheel configuration thats different from our tricycle/ row crop here? Maybe export tractors were equipped diferently? Just trying to learn more about whats common there, thanks. F.J.W.

I'd say that Irish's Farmall M could be an Australian made (Geelong) model. I'm sure our tyre sizes are the same as any other imperial tyre sizes. There is a bit of history on the Geelong tractors here;

FJW 13.5 x32 tire sizes were very common in Australia as at the time they were the larger cross section tyre of the late 30s and WD 40s,min,U and Farmall Ms along with early Aussie Chamberlains all used them, a lot of combines also used that size.some time in the 50s they started to use bigger tyres and 13.50 x32 were one to fall by the wayside,

For what it's worth, I didn't buy the rights or the molds for the Harvest 13.50 x 32 tires. I hope someone did and is continuing to make them though because I still need several sets!

Hi Irish, I have bought a Farmall M wide front with 32" rear tyres and I also have a Row crop M with 38" Rear tyres. I am planning to take the 38's of the row crop M and put the on my wide front M as 32" tyres are not worth the hassle trying to get. i am using the row crop M for parts. I would sugest you get a set of farmall m 38" rims and centers and do the same. Regards Ian

Ian , thanks for the common sense idea. I rekon it will be the way to go. I will have to get over to Victoria & pick up a complete set of 38"centres/rims & also for my "H" same again as it needs 28" centres/rims. The H has 26's fitted which are not sdtandard so eventually when I get the required bits it will be so much easier to getrear tyres for my Farmalls. Thanks again for your help & information.
Cheers Irish
