Local but too rich for me. Real nice mower though.
Moto Mower - Briggs FI Engine - $1000
Very nice Moto Mower with a Briggs & Stratton FI engine, this engine has external intake & exhaust rocker arms. Will not separate engine from mower. Everything with mower and engine works fine. Moto Mowers in this condition are very hard to find. I have been told Moto Mower is 1927 and Briggs & Stratton FI engine is 1930. Have the original pulley for the engine...Thanks for looking. http://kansascity.craigslist.org/atq/3975070545.html

That moto-mower is really nice!
I really like the somewhat later 30's and 40's models which had a sickle bar in front of the reel. I know those engines are worth $350, and perhaps he will get $1000, but I think it will sell in short order if he priced it at $600-750

Im willing to bet that FI by itself would bring more than $350. Over all price I think your right on.

That mower frame for sure is a 1927 and that would mean it had an FG engine. The FI came on these in 1928 through early 1931 when they switched to the M series. The FI engines on these after 1928 were all lever start anyways. Judging by all that nice original paint still on the mower frame Im sure the FG that was pulled off it was just as original and thats a shame because these mowers are getting scarce as hell now. The seller prob wanted an FG and bought this mower and put a spare FI on it just to sell it. As for what someone will pay is anyones guess. I just sold a nice original 1928 slant fin FI Moto on Scambay and it fetched $1000.00. Hopefully the other 1928 and FG mowers will do the same when the time comes I dig them out and list them.
