Arrow The SJC Museum

Been posting a few videos I have taken over the years on Stak recently due to finally getting high speed internet here out in the swamp

But it's rather hard to keep track of everything I have or have not posted on here and to place everything in the correct categories, then I stumbled upon this section of the site and thought well this makes a lot of sense

So I'm going to start a thread posting my different Old Iron and related videos here. Wont start separate threads as I don't want to clog up the place so unless other wise asked to will just continue posting to this thread.

Best Regards
Cerwin

Here is my first video for your viewing pleasure.

freshly restored 3 HP M McCormick Deering engine.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2XmF7X4q0I

This one took quite a bit of work to get it running as it had a stuck piston that took a 40 ton press a few goes to get out and that was after over a year of soaking in various concoctions to free it.

Will see if I can find some before pics to post here as a follow up.

Pictures of the engine partially dismantled and hung up with cylinder full of lubricants etc

Piston and Sleeve which came out all at once (who knew) after multiple passes with the sledge hammer and the blunt end of the axe (wooden block included of course)

and the original (as far as we know) gas tank

Just going to work threw all my Videos etc that I think Might be of interest to the group.

This is an aprox 1918 Model X Gilson Made in Guelph Ontario Canada

https://youtu.be/mLQXqfy0PqI

Good runner but like a lot of Gilson's it hits hard so I don't run it too often.

would be interested in people's thoughts on weather or not the shroud over the crank is original or a repo seems to be galvanized ?

The Model or Type X was made from 1922 - 1925 as for the shroud or crank guard it looks to be original. The X is some what of a rare engine

A few years ago back when the Steam-Era was still at the fairgrounds in Milton, I took the notion to film my trip as I collected my tractor from the tractor pull the track when it was left the night before and took it for a lap to dry off the morning dew

Re posting a couple of videos of my Reid and Barr stationary steam engine.

Special Thanks to the fellows at the Ontario Steam Heiratage Museum for piping it up to steam and running it for the day. Was a real treat to see it operating how it was intended to do so.

This is a clip I took at Dwayne's spring event in Texas. He made the extra effort to make it a real live work in progress event for all in attendance. It does not get any better than that.
