Default Original Paint Preservation

In the past there has been a lot of discussion on how to preserve original paint on gas engines. I have three engines that have a considerable amount of original paint and pin striping. The engines have been cleaned of dirt and grease using kerosene. Is there anything new? Methods which have been used in the past include boiled linseed oil mixtures, AT fluid, WD-40, Penetrol, etc., any other recommendations/suggestions.

I use linseed oil cut in half with mineral spirits. It looks good and lasts a long time. I usually re-coat every couple of years.
