Default WW1 heritage thanks to computers

Tonight I was able to research what my great grandad did during WW 1. Who would have guessed that we would be able to find all documents and records for a soldier so long ago. Joe Sheffield went to war in 1915 from Beeton Ont. He ended up as a L/Sgt with the 27th Battalion (City of Winnipeg). They were attached to the second division and were known by the Germans to be one of the deadliest groups of the war. When searching the 27th’ battle record it shows that they were in some nasty fights, he made it through tho and got back home. I can’t imagine what those guys would have seen. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/27th_B...Winnipeg),_CEF. http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discove...dNumber=225174
