Default Running Honda engine with stator wire unhooked.

I just bought a Quincy air compressor with a Honda GX390 engine. It has electric start and a small charging stator. Instead of a separate battery I am using a power wire from my truck battery to start it. But I do not want the charging system to function. The stator has one wire coming out going to the rectifier. Will unplugging the wire have any negative effects to the stator? I have search high and low online with no good answer. Thanks

No problem disconnecting it. It'll just continue to make unused AC all day.

Thanks, that’s what I thought but started to second guess after reading on another forum that it can damage the stator. Really it is no different than a ordinary generator running with nothing plugged in. The biggest problem with searching online for anything is all the misinformation out there!
