Default Prayers for the Steam Community

I won't name names or issues, but the steam community has been hit hard by a lot of difficult events. If you are of the mind, please say a prayer for all who have been affected by adversity and are in need. They may be in need of a kind word, a quick phone call or text "Thinking of you," or "what can I do?"

I had a wonderful day at Jonas' Saw Day, but too many conversations centered on those in need. It was good to be together and know how much each truly cares about the others.

Talked to my mom today and also heard of a loss of a great woman to cancer! Both her and husband have been a major part of the tractor and steam community since the 50's! As I was raised around this family as my father was too. I send my condolences to the family for their loss!

Steve Harris is one of many that I was thinking about when I started this thread. He has a tough battle ahead, so if anyone can bottle some steam smell & smoke, I'm sure it will comfort him through his treatments. Second best would be positive thoughts, prayers and a card. Attending his benefit would be great also, but not required. http://www.smokstak.com/forum/showthread.php?t=151796

Steve has been very transparent with his battle. Others chose to battle privately. Please respect each person's level of privacy.

Let us support our community with positive behavior and Kick Some Ash.

Thank you
Beth

Thank you Dan. You don't have to be part of the steam community to care and pray. We all need each other...and many have more than just steam.

The Quiet Prayer:

Father,
Thank You for each and every day You have blessed us here on earth.
Thank You for Your tender mercies.
Thank You for giving us friends and family to share joys and sorrows with.
I ask You to bless my friends, relatives, brothers and sisters in Christ and those I care deeply for, who are reading this right now.
Where there is joy, give them continued joy.
Where there is pain or
sorrow, give them your peace and mercy.
Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed
confidence.
Where there is need, fulfill their needs.
Bless their homes, families, finances, their goings and
their comings.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

Thanks Beth. What a wonderful and meaningful prayer. A delight to read especially when compared to the some of the comments on Traction-Talk forum in the UK.

I hate the need to bring this thread back up, but yet another Stakker is in need of comforting prayers at the loss of a loved one. I'll allow him to post details if he wishes.

God's Speed.

I was notified by Mike McKnight that his wife died suddenly this morning. They have been married for 10 yrs and have two sons. Mike is doing as well as can be expected and asked for our thoughts and prayers as he moves forward. I will post more information as it becomes available.

I was stunned to hear that tragic news this morning as well. Mike and his two sons have been in my prayers this morning and will remain there. And naturally, I'm out of thanks. My heart is with you Mike. God bless you. Gary

My thoughts and prayers to Mike and his boys. Thoughts and prayers for other steam folks. I know first hand how hard it is when a loved one passes unexpectedly.

Not to tute my own horn, but since my industrial accident I've only been able to fire my Keck twice since 2014. I miss visiting with others in the steam community, my driving ability is very limited.

Take care all steam friends.
David

Mike;
I wish you and your family well in this sad time. Your wife will live on in all of your memories. I remember you and the boys with that engine over in Iowa several years back.
You all have my sympathy.

Everyone, I appreciate the kind words and prayers. Am really at a loss for anything and everything right now, but am bowled over by the amount messages, calls, and offers of support. Thanks for everything in this difficult time.

Mike,

We may all prefer "our" brand of engine, but we stick together.

Remember the wonderful moments and experiences that you & Revonda had together.
