Default Le Sueur, Minnesota swap meet

Looks like a bunch have signed up to come to Le Sueur, Mn for the swap meet on the calendar of events. I will be busy in the big orange loader tractor all weekend, so if you get a chance stop me and say hello.

I will be in the parking lot all afternoon thursday so I can visit with everyone there before they kick the gates open for us from 5:30 to 8:30. Be there till sunday noon with a load of junk. I have a white regular cab with a Minneapolis Moline flag above it. I got extra water, beer and lawn chairs under a 10 x 20 ground canopy

Roger,
Not sure if we can get together, I will be busy but can take off for a get together if someone wants to do one. The guys will be spread over the 3 days with some here this day and some the next, so it might be hard to get together, they won't want to stop shopping.
See ya,
Dave

Well.... I Just got back. They must have set a record for the number of Vendors. Things were really changing hands Saturday afternoon... Some sellers left with empty trailers and some didn't seem to be selling much. It no doubt depended on their prices...

I had a hard time navigating as I kept meeting people I knew and catching up on the latest rumors and speculation... I know I missed at least 1/3 of it...

I did pick up a F & J Pump engine and hauled back a H Farmall engine for somebody else...

Like Steve said Friday was a dust storm but Today turned out Really Nice after the overnight rain settled the Dust...

The '10 swap meet is history and we had a great weekend and had as many vendors as we have ever had. It was a bit dusty and windy on Fri. The boys watered as much as they could but was hard to keep up with the dry conditions and wind. Then on Fri. night we had .35 of rain and it was a very nice day on Sat. Then on Sun. morning we had light showers but not much mud. Lots of vendors again and lots of meeting of old friends, making new friends, buying, looking, exchanging parts, tractors, engines, etc. Will do it all over again in '11.....see you then.

Gary Biewer, Bill Koski, and Mike Koski on trailer.

Doug Van Ryswyk, Tony Thompson, Jim Anderson.

Here is a link to a video on youtube of the shotgun start on Thurs. at 5:30 pm. Nearly 800 vendors went through the gates by 8 pm.

This meet is one largest and one of the best!
Over one hundred acres of junk If you are as sick as I am then you know how awsome it is to buy, sell, and trade here
I have attended for twenty years, creating memories and friends to last a lifetime. It was really great to see so many of our firends and meet some more this year.
As always the members of Pioneer Power are a class act that delivers big in putting on the swap and show each April and August.
To all the club members that patiently managed the massive crowd and loaded heavy parts with the loaders THANK YOU
Tony & friends

Had a great time. Was a big dust bowl on Friday. The bad thing was all the people roping off spots. I even had one old man throw a trash can in front of my truck and scream at me as I tried to pull into a empty spot. When I went to register my golf cart I ask the man behind the counter why there were people at 3 o'clock in the swap area placing chairs and ropes all over the swap area he nearly took my head off and said more or less that they cant control what people do. I might have said something but my 12 year old son was with. Still had a great time and my son is already asking about next year.

All I can say is that it is very hard to control that many people and that many different views some of these people have. I know the board of directors were busy chasing down the gators and 4 wheelers that snuck in and kicking them out, just to have them leave and turn around and come right back in. The club had a few exceptions for "club work". Also, the roping off comes in right before the opening bell, some vendors send in a "guard" and guide their partner in when they come through the gate. If you see something that is not being done in a mannerly fashion, ask for that persons name and report it to the office. Most of us are decent folk, but at the swap meet there is some REALLY different DNA in some of these people.

We go through this every year and hopefully all the good ones can come back and have fun next year.

We brought two loads down and had a great time. Sold allot and bought allot. One thing I could never understand is why there has to me this mass enterance. Why not just pre register and assign vendors a spot? It always makes it soo stressfull untill we get settled in a spot. Thanks to all the club members for the great event and thanks to everyone that bought and looked at out stuff.
